How the commission is formed
- Composition
- Three commissioners serve staggered six-year terms and exercise the SCC's regulatory and judicial authority.
- Appointment
- The Virginia General Assembly elects commissioners. The governor may fill a vacancy temporarily until the General Assembly elects a successor.
- Leadership
- The chair rotates annually among the three commissioners on February 1. Kelsey A. Bagot is the current chair.
